Like the classic apple pie, these tarts have all the flavors of apple pie but in a pop tart like form. If you ask me – that’s the best of both worlds!

You’re going to love this recipe because of how simple it is to make. Instead of spending hours in the kitchen, this recipe comes together really quickly.

Best Apple Recipes
Whenver I go apple picking I’m always looking for the best apple recipes to make with all those apples! This one is one of my favorites, but here are a few more my family likes to make:

How to Store Leftovers
Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days after baking. When you’re ready to serve, I recommend popping them in the toaster oven for a few minutes to warm them up.
These are also great frozen! You can store a batch for up to 6 months in the freezer and then defrost in the toaster oven when ready to eat.
Recipe Tips and Tricks
If you’re using frozen puff pastry, make sure to take it out of the freezer in advance and thaw it. This can usually take a few hours. I like to take the puff pastry out of the freezer like a day in advance.
My family loves red delicious apples, but this recipe can be made with any apple! If you’re going apple picking this season this would be a great recipe to make (and if you have even more extra, make sure you try my instant pot apple butter).
When you freeze or store these for later, I recommend wrapping them individually. I found they stay fresh longer when I do this (and they don’t stick together!)

Apple Pie Tarts

Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry thawed
- 1 Red Delicious apple peeled, cored, and cut into thin slices
- 1/8 cup brown sugar
- 1/8 cup granulated sugar
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon optional
- A pinch of salt
- Confectioners sugar
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 375°F
- In your pan or skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add both types of sugar, cinnamon and a pinch of salt, stirring until the sugars dissolve and the mixture starts to bubble.
- Add the apple wedges to the pan, arranging them tightly in a circular pattern. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, until the apples are somewhat tender and caramelized. Be careful not to burn the caramel.
- While the apples are caramelizing, roll out your puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut in 6 even rectangles.
- Once the apples are caramelized, let them cool off for a few minutes.
- Then place 1 sheet of butter on the baking sheet, add 4 slices of caramelized apple and the puff pastry on top. Then push the edges down using a fork.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden and puffed.
- Flip the Tart: Let the tart cool for a few minutes after removing it from the oven. Then carefully flip the tart onto the plate. Be very careful, as the caramel and pan will be very hot.
- Dust some confectioners sugar over the tarts.
- Serve: Serve warm or at room temperature. For an even more decadant dessert, add on a scoop of ice cream!
