It’s spring time and that means fruit is back in season! We love fruit in our house and like to make up batches of fruit salsa to have on hand as a tasty snack. It’s a simple snack to make and pairs really well with cinnamon sugar chips (or even eating just plain!)

How to Make Fruit Salad and Baked Cinnamon Chips

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Using a pizza cutter, cut the tortillas into chip shapes (I got about 12 chips from each tortilla)
  3. In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon sugar
  4. Place the tortillas on the baking sheet and brush each chip with a little water. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top of the chips.
  5. Bake chips for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown
  6. While the chips are baking, in a medium bowl combine the mango, kiwi, strawberries and apple. Once combined, mix in the sugar, cinnamon and melted jelly (I melted the jelly in a small bowl in the microwave for about 30 second, stirring half way through).
  7. Once mixed, cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes so the flavors can mix.

Recipe Tips

  • Fruit salsa is best served the same day it’s made (the fruit browns quickly once cut up so it doesn’t look as appetizing). If you’re making this for a party I recommend making it a few hours before you plan on serving.
  • The homemade cinnamon chips can be swapped out with a store bought chip like Stacy’s cinnamon sugar pita chips. Graham crackers would also be a delicious option!
  • Cinnamon chips could be made in an airfryer. If using an airfryer, cook on 400 for about 7 minutes (time will vary depending on your airfryer).

Fruit Substitutions

Fruit salsa is a versatile recipe and can be made with a variety of different fruit. A few of my favorites to mix in:

  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Pineapple
  • Grapes (cut into smaller pieces)
  • Different types of apples like honey crisp or fuji

Storing Fruit Salsa and Baked Cinnamon Chips

Fruit salsa: store the fruit salsa in an airtight container in the fridge. Fruit salsa will last about

Cinnamon Chips: Store the chips in an airtight container on the counter for up to 5 days.

I like my chips to be longer so there’s enough room to dip but the length and size of the chips are up to you! I do not recommend making them too small so you can easily brush water on them before baking.
