Does Hydralyte Actually Work? My Honest Review
We all know we need to drink water to stay hydrated, but sometimes it can be tough getting in enough.
Sometimes we need to drink more than we feel like drinking, and even when we do actually drink water, sometimes it can be tough to get enough electrolytes (which help your body absorb water).
I’ve especially been dealing with some bad dehydration headaches as I’m breastfeeding and getting back into working out so needed to find something to help.
I came across Hydralyte and decided to give it a try. In this blog post, I’ll share with you my experience with Hydralyte and if I would recommend it.

What is Hydralyte?
Hydralyte is an instant dissolve electrolyte powder stick that can help rehydrate you 2-3 times faster than water.
It’s made from all natural ingredients, free from artificial color and sweeteners, and vegan, gluten and dairy free.
Flavors
Hydralyte currently comes in a few different flavors and varieties:
Variety Pack – Orange, Strawberry, and Lemonade
Hydration + Immunity Pack
Hydration + Collagen Boost
Hydration + Energy Boost
Hydralyte Review
When I first made a Hydralyte the first thing I noticed was how quickly the powder dissolved into the water.
I really liked that because I had tried Nuun in the past and didn’t like how it took a few minutes before the tablets would fully dissolve (and half the time I’d be impatient and end up drinking some of the tablet…whoops).
This isn’t an issue for Hydralyte!

I noticed that once the packet dissolved the water became a little fizzy – not as fizzy as sparkling water, just a light fizz.
The taste was really refreshing and not as intense as I was expecting. I quickly became a fan!
About a half hour to an hour after drinking Hydralyte I did notice that I felt a little more energy and felt overall good!
Overall I really like Hydralyte and plan to add it into my daily routine. I currently drink it in the morning after I workout, but am planning to add to my more intense workouts when I start up Peloton Power Zone training again.
Hydralyte vs Liquid IV
How does Hydralyte compare to LiquidIV?
LiquidIV is a similar hydration boost powder, but I found that it was super sweet and almost a little thick.
I like that Hydralyte tastes like lightly flavored water and not overpowering like Liquid IV can be.
Both seem to have improved my hydration so it seems to come down to flavor. I like that Hydralyte comes in a variety pack so I can try different flavors, whereas I’ve only found 1 flavor of LiquidIV at my Costco.
Nutrition-wise, Hydralyte is 1/2 the calories of a LiquidIV at only 20 calories a serving.
Where to Buy Hydralyte
Hydralyte can be found on their site, Amazon, Walmart, and Target online.
If you’re looking to find it in stores, you can find it at Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, and a few other local retailers.
How to Use
To use Hydralyte, just open a pack and pour it into a bottle of water and mix. That’s it!
I like to use Hydralyte right after a workout (or I’ll have a water bottle of it if I’m doing a really intense workout, like a 90 minute Power Zone ride) to help balance my electrolytes and rehydrate.
I also found that while I was breastfeeding it really helped me stay hydrated!
I used to get so thirsty while nursing and pumping and I found that if I had 1 of these a day I was able to stay hydrated and avoid any dehydration headaches and fatigue.
Final Thoughts
I really like Hydralyte and I think it’s a great addition to my healthy lifestyle.
It tastes good and helps me drink more water so I’m not feeling as thirsty during the day or after working out.
If you’re looking for a way to get your electrolytes back in balance, give Hydralyte a try!
