When I think about the holidays I instantly think about cinnamon rolls. Every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas morning it was our tradition to have cinnamon rolls while we watched the parade or opened presents. A holiday just isn’t complete if it doesn’t include cinnamon rolls!
Instant Pot Cinnamon Rolls are a great way to make cinnamon rolls without having to use the oven. This year we’re staying home for the holidays so my oven is used pretty much all day to prep for the later holiday lunch/dinner. Thankfully my Instant Pot came to the rescue and made the most perfect cinnamon rolls (and I have to admit I love any chance I get to use my Instant Pot for baking!).
Ingredients
- Canned cinnamon roll dough with icing (I like to use Pillsbury cinnamon rolls)
- Water
How to Make Instant Pot Cinnamon Rolls
- Spray a springform pan with non stick cooking spray.
- Open the cinnamon rolls and place inside the springform pan (it’s ok if they touch and get a little squished)
- Using non stick aluminum foil (or spray with cooking spray), wrap the top of the springform pan tightly.
- Insert the trivet into the Instant Pot and pour in 2 cups of water.
- Place the covered springform pan on top the the trivet and lock the lid on the Instant Pot.
- Cook on high pressure for 15 minutes.
- Once done cooking, allow the Instant Pot to naturally release for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, do a quick release.
- Remove the springform pan from the Instant Pot and remove aluminum foil wrap. Top the Instant Pot Cinnamon Rolls with icing and enjoy!
Equipment Needed
To make Instant Pot Cinnamon rolls you’ll need:

Frequently Asked Questions
How to Store Leftovers
Leftovers should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. I like to use these pyrex containers because they have enough room for the rolls without smudging the icing everywhere.
What Pan is Best for Cooking Cinnamon Rolls
To make these cinnamon rolls, I recommend using this springform pan. Make sure to spray with non stick cooking spray so the rolls don’t stick to the pan!
Why Make Cinnamon Rolls in An Instant Pot Instead of Oven?
I like to use the Instant Pot to make cinnamon rolls on holidays or other times that I might not be able to use the oven. I find the cinnamon rolls come out a little fluffier in the Instant Pot but that might just be me! Either way, my family gobbles them up every time!
How To Freeze Leftovers
Once the cinnamon rolls are completely cooled, wrap cinnamon rolls in plastic wrap and then store in a freezer bag. Freeze for up to 6 months.
To defrost, take the cinnamon rolls out of the freezer 24 hours before serving.
