Have you ever been excited to go do your favorite Peloton class only to find out it's missing from the on-demand library? How frustrating!
In this blog post, we'll go over the different reasons why your class is missing and how you can fix it.
Why do Peloton Classes Go Missing?
There are a few reasons why Peloton classes are suddenly removed from the on-demand library. Peloton cleans the library in what's sometimes to referred to as the "class purge" a few times a year. Here are a few reasons why your class might've been removed:
Music Licensing Issues
Peloton licenses their music and occasionally licensing agreements change and Peloton loses the rights to use the music. When this happens, they'll remove the class from the on-demand library so they don't violate the licensing agreement.
When an instructor leaves Peloton, Peloton may remove their classes from the on-demand library.
Old Outdated Classes
Recently Peloton has been removing super old classes that may have been shot differently than current classes. I recently took one that I think has been removed where it was shot in what looked like a big open office space instead of the usual Peloton strength studio.
Poor Quality or Streaming Issues
Some classes have constant streaming or quality issues and may be removed.
Sometimes Peloton likes to see if we're paying attention and remove popular classes for fun - OK, just kidding on this one! 🙂
Will Peloton Classes Return?
Unfortunately, I haven't seen or heard of any of the missing classes coming back to the library after they've been purged. Hopefully, they will replace the missing themed classes in the future!
Do Missing Peloton Classes Still Count Towards My Milestone Totals?
If you took a class that's been deleted, you'll still get credit for that class in your milestone totals. You just won't be able to take that class again.
I hope that this post has given you some insight into why your favorite Peloton class may be missing. Peloton doesn't really give a reason or any advance warning when they're going to do class purges, but these are a few of the usual reasons.
