Peloton Bike Delivery: What to Expect and My Experience
As soon as I clicked on purchase on my Peloton Bike, the countdown began until it would be delivered! If you’ve spent any time in Facebook groups or Reddit communities you’ll know that this is a highly discussed topic, especially in recent years.
In the “good ‘ole days”, you used to be able to order a bike and have it show up within a week or two. Since the increase in popularity, the timing on delivery of Peloton bikes has increased and it can take a few months for your Peloton bike to arrive.
In this blog post, I’ll go over what to expect on delivery day, my experience with my bike purchase, and tips and tricks to make sure it goes smoothly.

Ordering a Peloton Bike
After you order the Peloton bike, you’ll receive a confirmation e-mail of the purchase. Then a few days later you’ll get an e-mail with the option to select a delivery date and window. Usually, these windows are a few months out, but I’ve heard some people have been getting lucky and are only a few weeks!

When I purchased my bike in June 2020 (right before the Bike+ came out), the earliest delivery date available was the middle of August. I selected that but I hoped to get my bike sooner.
I read online that there are occasionally cancellations and it might be possible to bump up the delivery date. The best way to check was to go on to the Peloton support and ask if anything earlier had opened up.
I should add that my bike was being delivered directly through Peloton and not a third-party company like XPO – if your bike is being delivered through another company, you’ll need to reach out to them to try to change your delivery date.
I decided to give it a try and every morning I’d log into my computer and ask support to check. The first week I didn’t have much luck, but on the second week I ended up being able to move my bike delivery from mid-August to early July! I was so excited!
That ended up being only 3 weeks after I ordered it so I ended up keeping that date. After a long 3 weeks, I got a text the night before that my bike delivery was still on and that they would contact me in the morning before they arrived.
Peloton Bike Delivery
On delivery day, I got a call about 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment saying they were on their way. I was scheduled during the first stop (I believe 8-10) so I was pretty happy!
The Peloton van arrived and there were 2 people to unload and set up the bike. There were still orders in place by Peloton that delivery couldn’t enter into the house, so they set it all up inside my garage (this has since changed and they can now set up bikes inside your house). The delivery team set up everything except the monitor and showed us how to put the monitor on (we had to carry it downstairs to our basement so the bike wouldn’t have fit with the monitor on). They also brought all the accessories I ordered.
Altogether, it took them about 15 minutes to put together the bike and show us how to install the monitor. We thanked and tipped them and carried the bike down the basement. The bike was light and was easy for my husband and me to carry down the stairs together.
The delivery team also took the extra boxes that came with the bike but did leave the one the monitor was in (since we hadn’t set it up yet).
Downstairs, my husband put on the monitor, and in a few minutes and I was ready to ride!

My Peloton Bike Delivery Experience
Overall I had a really good delivery experience. I will admit I was nervous about the fact that I couldn’t test out the bike while the delivery guys were there, but it ended up working out. The process has changed this year so now you can test out the bike before the delivery team leaves so if any issues come up they can make note of it.
Peloton has also been experiencing shortages of bikes so there has been an increase in delayed deliveries due to the supply chain. I’ve heard recently of friends ordering the bike and getting them within a month, all the way to some people not getting them for a few months.

Tips to Prepare for Peloton Bike Delivery
After going through the experience and talking with my friends, here are a few helpful tips to make your Peloton Bike delivery go as smoothly as possible:
- Make sure the space is ready – clear out the space you want the bike and have it ready to go for when the delivery team arrives. Clear out all paths to get to the space as well.
- Try out the bike while the team is there – Make sure the bike is working properly and everything is connected before the team leaves. You want to especially make sure the monitor works as well as the pedals are on correctly.
- If you’re planning to tip, have the tip ready! – Tipping isn’t required but is appreciated. If you’re planning to tip the drivers, make sure to have the tip nearby so you don’t forget.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who Delivers the Peloton Bike?
Peloton delivers and installs their bikes as well as hires third-party companies, like XPO to do deliveries.
How Do I Know Which Company Will Deliver?
After you purchase the bike you’ll be sent an e-mail with tracking information and who will be delivering the bike. If there’s no other carrier mentioned in the communications then it means you more than likely will have Peloton deliver.
Can I Choose Who Delivers my Bike?
At this time there isn’t a way to choose which company delivers the bike.
Can I Change My Delivery Date?
Possibly – there are always cancellations on the delivery calendar so it might be possible to bump your delivery date up. I was able to change mine from a 3-month wait to only 3 weeks!
The best way to try to change your delivery date is to chat with Peloton support on the support website. They have access to delivery schedules and can check to see if there’s an earlier appointment available. I’ve heard this can only work with Peloton direct deliveries and not XPO ones.
How Long Does Delivery Take?
Bike delivery is pretty quick and can take anywhere from 15-30 minutes.
Should I Tip the Peloton Delivery Team?
Most people usually give them a tip for delivering and setting up the bike. Tips typically range from $10-$20 a person. Treadmill delivery tips are usually $20-$40 per person.
Do Peloton Bike Deliveries Get Delayed?
Occasionally bike deliveries do get delayed. The delivery company will reach out to you when that happens and work with you to reschedule.
