Peloton Referral Program (aka How to get Free Peloton Apparel)

I’m a sucker for cute workout clothes with logos, so when I joined the Peloton community I wanted to buy allllll the things. Unfortunately for me, the price tag on most of the apparel is pretty steep so I have to limit myself on what I buy. In all fairness they do collaborate with some higher end athleisure companies (like lululemon) so the pricing is in line.

One way to get Peloton swag for cheap (or even free) is through the referral program.

How the Peloton Referral Program Works

Each person you refer with your referral code you get $100 in boutique credit sent to you. Your friend benefits too as they get to save $100 off bike or tread bundles (note: bundles – the $100 can’t be taken off of individual accessories or weights).

How to Find Your Peloton Referral Code

To find your referral code:

  • Go to the Peloton members website and log in if you’re not already.
  • In the top right corner, click on the 3 dots and a drop down menu will appear

How to Redeem Peloton Referral Credits

After your friend uses your code, you’ll get an e-mail a few days later with a unique code to use in the boutique. The nice thing is Peloton sends out the referral codes when your friend orders instead of when the bike is delivered, so you get to go shopping pretty quickly. I had a friend sign up with my referral code and I think it took 2 days to get my credit.

One big thing to note with the credits is that they need to be spent all at once. If you buy something that’s under $100, you’ll lose out on the remaining balance.

2022 Referral Program Updates

This year Peloton has changed a few things with the referral program. One of the major changes they made was that instead of being able to refer 12 people, you can now only get referral credits for 6 people in a calendar year. I’m hoping this is a temporary change this year and Peloton returns to the 12 limit next year.

Peloton has also started adding in new promotions where if you use your referral code your friend can save $300 instead of the $100 off a tread

Final Thoughts

The Peloton referral program is a great way to get rewarded for sharing your love of Peloton with your friends and family. Peloton recently changed the program to allow only 6 referrals instead of 12, but it’s still a decent amount of referral credits!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Apparel Credits be Combined?

No, apparel credits can’t be combined at this time.

Is Anything Excluded?

Usually everything can be bought with the promo credit, but lately I’ve been hearing some of the pieces from the Adidas x Peloton collection are excluded.

Can I Get Free Shipping When I Use Apparel Credit?

Kind of – to get free shipping, you must spend $50 after any credits are applied to qualify for free shipping.

Can Peloton Referral Codes be Shared on Social Media?

Sharing referral codes comes up a ton, especially on Facebook groups and I always recommend against it. Peloton’s stated in their terms that they don’t want referral codes to be shared on public platforms. From Peloton’s terms:

You may not distribute your referral code for any commercial purpose or otherwise publicized for use by the general public or on sites where you are not the primary owner and operator. Peloton reserves the right to refuse to honor referral codes and/or terminate your eligibility for this program if Peloton suspects abuse (such as posting your referral code to deal or coupon aggregator sites, review sites or videos, and solicitation on the Peloton Official Rider Page, etc.).

Peloton Referral Program Terms & Conditions

I haven’t heard of anyone actually having their code terminated, but I always figure better safe than sorry!

Can Peloton App Users Participate?

Only bike and tread members have access to the referral program at this time.

Can I Buy a Tread With my Own Referral Code?

I haven’t personally done this but have heard it does work from friends! You do need to purchase a bundle with the tread (or bike if you already have the tread) in order for it to work.

Where Can I Find my Referral Code in the Peloton App?

I haven’t found a way to get to the referral code through the app yet. The only way I’ve been able to find mine is through the website.

Would it be better to have people ask you to invite them, or would it be better just to send them to Peloton’s registration form?

    1. I’ll usually send my code to people when they’re ready to buy or ask me for it. I don’t think you get credit if you send the link to the registration page

      1. A couple questions, how can you use 3 apparel credits on one order? I can ony use one and when I chatted with support they said one code per order so I dropped it.

Also, I am finding that if my friend uses Affirm I never get the referral credit. Is that a known issue? Peloton refuses to look into it.

        Thanks!

        1. It used to be 3 but it looks like you’re right and it’s only 1 per order, but you can make separate multiple orders. I’ll update the post with the new info 🙂

You should be getting credit for affirm purchases. I bought my bike with affirm and my friend got her referral credit 2 days after I bought it. I just had someone buy the bike last week with affirm and I got the credit as well. This is the first I’ve heard of the issue so I’m not sure how widespread it is? I wonder if your friend accidentally entered the code in wrong? That’s so annoying Peloton won’t look into it! 🙁
