Complete List of Peloton Standing Core Workouts (with Links!)

While I’ve been adding new routines to my postnatal workouts, I’m still not 100% cleared to get back to all the moves I did before I had a baby. Crunches and planks are two big ones I’ve had to avoid.

Thankfully, Peloton does offer standing core classes in addition to their postnatal classes so I have a few options to choose from. Standing core classes work out your abs without doing any of the traditional floor work or crunches.

In this post, I’ll share with you everything you need to know about standing core workouts and where to find them in the Peloton library.

What is a Standing Core Workout?

A standing core workout is a core workout that’s done standing, instead of the traditional floor exercises. Standing ab exercises are a great way to mix up a core workout, and are especially good for people who can’t do traditional crunches and core work.

Who Teaches Standing Core Workouts

While all the Peloton strength instructors could teach a standing core class, it seems like this is a class style that Rebecca Kennedy really focuses on. Bec Gentry does have one for runners, but for the most part all the classes are taught by Rebecca.

How to Find Classes

Standing Core classes are mixed in with the regular strength training classes, which you can find on the Peloton App, Bike, and Tread. Unfortunately, there isn’t a way (at this time) to filter to standing core so you do have to do a little searching.

You can tell if a class is a standing core class by the class description, but that can be a little manual to search through. The good news is I did the work for you and below you’ll find a link to Peloton’s standing core classes!

What Types of Core Moves Do You Do?

You might be familiar with typical core moves like crunches and planks, but you won’t find any of those in these standing core exercises. Some core moves you will find are:

Lunge and Reach

Squat to Oblique Crunch

Cross Body Chops

Oblique Jacks

    Final Thoughts

    Standing Core classes are a really great way to get in core work without doing crunches. If you’re looking for something new to try or coming back from injury, I highly recommend trying out one of these standing core classes. They’re a great standalone workout or you could stack onto a ride or run.
