Winter's here and I'm craving all the hot drinks now. I used to love ordering skinny peppermint mochas, but sadly Starbucks discontinued those a few years ago. I've been trying to recreate my favorite drink at home for years now.
Our Nespresso machine broke a few days ago so we ended up getting a new one with a frother. I don't usually add anything to my coffees, but I got an idea - what happened if I put a Fairlife protein shake in the frother?

The result was magical! This has become my new guilt-free drink.
In this post, I'll share with you how to make your own protein Peppermint Mocha drink at home!
Table of Contents
Equipment Needed
To make this drink, you'll need a coffee machine (or a cup of coffee already brewed), and a frother.
The frother really makes the protein shake come out super creamy and makes the drink, in my opinion. I have this frother and love it but any frother will work!
How to Make Protein Peppermint Mocha
Brew a cup of coffee and then add in about â…› teaspoon peppermint extract (careful - this stuff is strong!) and 1 tablespoon skinny mocha syrup.
In your frother, add in a Fairlife protein shake and froth according to the machine instructions.
Once the milk is done frothing, pour it into your coffee and enjoy! You could get fancy and add some whipped cream and sprinkles on top too!
Nutritional Information
My favorite thing about this recipe is that it's packed with protein and has way better macros than the original! The nutritional information is the same as your protein shake.
If you used a Fairlife shake like I did, the nutritional information is:

30g Protein
4g Carbs

Recipe Tips and Tricks
If you don't have Fairlife on hand, I'm sure you could use any brand of protein shake. I haven't tried it but have heard from others that Premier protein also works.
This recipe is best when it's made fresh so I don't recommend saving any leftovers (if you have any!).
To make this extra festive, you could top with some whipped cream, sprinkles and serve in a fun mug like this one.
If you can't find the skinny mocha syrup (I get mine at TJ Maxx), you can always just skip it. It won't be a peppermint mocha but it'll still taste pretty good!
Be careful with the peppermint extract because it can be super strong. I recommend adding â…› teaspoon at first and adding more if needed after trying it.
