How to Share Peloton Workouts on Instagram

Did you know you can share your Peloton workout on Instagram? I kept seeing on Instagram stories people sharing and was so curious about how they were able to do it. I finally figured it out and wanted to share!

Right now this feature isn’t on the bike or tread so you’ll need to download the Peloton app to do this. I use an iPhone so these instructions are for iOS, but I think they’re similar to Android (Android users, let me know if anything’s different!)

Also Peloton just released an update so you can customize the image in your stories – if you don’t have that feature yet, go to the app store and update the app first.

Next, click on the little share arrow next to your username.

You’ll get a share screen that pops up. Scroll through until you see Instagram – on my screen, I have to click on “more” (all the way on the right) and then scroll down under suggestions to Instagram.

Instagram stories will pop up and an image of your workout will pop up! You can take add your on photo, or if you click on the block with your workout details it’ll show an image from the instructor.

Select an image and then click share and it’ll show up on your Instagram stories! If you have your Instagram linked to Facebook, it’ll also show on your Facebook stories too.

This week Peloton introduced the new ability to be able to add your own photo to the stats instead of just a generic image of the instructor. While I like this new feature, I’m not a fan that the stats now just show the name of the class and how many classes you’ve taken. I’d much rather the stats include like my output, speed, miles, or something else more personalized.

Update: There was a update with either Instagram or Peloton that made sharing only show up as a way to share with your friends only. This is a temporary glitch, but to fix it for now follow the steps above and search for a 2nd Instagram icon. The 1st instragm icon under share will only share in a direct message to friends while the 2nd one will allow you to share to your stories.

I’d love to know if you share your workouts on Instagram and what you think of the new stories option!

Frequently Asked Questions

What Types of Workouts Can I Share on Instagram?

I’ve tried it out with all my workouts – cycling, tread, strength, yoga, pilates, etc. and they’ve all worked! The only thing I’ve noticed is some of the workouts don’t have default images so just show a blank screen with the workout details.

Can I Do This on Android?

I’m not sure if this will work on Android. I use iOS

Can I Share Workouts to My Instagram Feed?

I don’t believe you can share the workouts to your Instagram feed at this time. When you click share to Instagram it automatically pulls up Instagram stories.

When I want to share my workouts on my feed I’ll take a screen shot of the workout and share that way.

Can I Share Workouts on Instagram from the Bike or Treadmill?

I don’t believe so. I’ve only tried from my bike (original, not Bike+) and the only share options are to my Fitbit, Strava or Facebook. The only way I’ve been able to get the Instagram Stories to pop up is through the app.
