What is PBFit?
PBFit is a peanut butter powder that is a lightened up substitute for traditional peanut butter. The powder is made by gently pressing roasted peanuts to create the powder, and in the process removes most of the fat. PBFit is great as a replacement to peanut butter, or used in smoothies, shakes, baking and anything else you’d want to add peanut butter to. I’ll often make a batch as a snack to dip apples in.
How To Substitute Peanut Butter with PBFit
When using PBFit in recipes, it can be swapped out at a 1:1 ratio with regular peanut butter.
Where to Buy PBFit
PBFit can be purchased online at Amazon as well as in grocery stores and mass retailers like Target and Wal-Mart.
How to Make PBFit Peanut Butter
PB Fit is super easy to make! All you need to do is mix 2 tablespoons of the powder with 1 1/2 tablespoons water and enjoy.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cups PBFit Pumpkin Spice Powdered Peanut Butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 tbsp honey (swap out with agave syrup to make the recipe vegan)
- 1 1/4 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (I like to use these ones to keep this recipe vegan)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the PBFit with water and mix until smooth. Add in the honey and stir to combine.
- In a medium bowl, add the old fashioned oats and mix in the PBFit and honey mixture. Once combined, stir in the chocolate chips.
- Cover the bowl with saran wrap and place in the fridge for at least 2 hours so the flavors can mix.
- Remove from the fridge and roll the oats into small energy balls and serve.
How to Store Leftovers
Leftovers should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. I don’t recommend freezing leftovers.
Recipe Tips and Variations
The great thing about this recipe is that you can customize it with whatever flavors of PBFit you have on hand and toppings. PBFit currently comes in:
- Regular Peanut Butter (also available organic)
- Chocolate
- Pumpkin Spice
The mix ins for energy balls can also be changed up depending on what you have in your pantry. I like to use mini chocolate chips, but you could also use:
- dried cranberries
- shredded coconut
- flax seeds
