We all know that eating a healthy diet is important, but it can be hard to stick with this habit if you're not prepared.
Most of us have busy lives and find ourselves rushing from one thing to the next without time for proper meals or snacks. This leads many people to grab unhealthy options at fast-food restaurants or convenience stores.
Splendid Spoon was created by two mothers who struggled with getting their kids healthy meals on the table when they were growing up. They've brought together an amazing team of chefs and nutritionists who create delicious vegan recipes that are well balanced, nutritious, and easy to prepare in just 20 minutes!
Splendid Spoon sent me a kit to try out and in this blog post I'll share my experience and if it's worth buying.
Disclosure: Splendid Spoon sent me a sample kit but all opinions are my own.

How to Order
Splendid Spoon made ordering really easy and transparent! I went to their website and clicked on 'Get Started' and then was brought to a page to select which package I wanted. I really liked that Splendid Spoon brought me to this page before I had to give them any info or my credit card, which most subscription companies require before you even see how much it'll cost.
Once you select which package you want, you're brought to a screen to enter in your zip code and e-mail and then select your delivery preferences. In my area, they deliver either Wednesday or Fridays and the next delivery date available was the following week. You can also put in any allergies you have so Splendid Spoon can avoid suggesting meals that you might be allergic to.
The delivery is set to weekly deliveries, but later on you can adjust the schedule to be less frequent if you prefer. Once you select your delivery date, you can choose which meals they send you based on the package you selected.
Delivery and Packaging
My package was delivered on time (Wednesday) through FedEx. The packaging on the meals was great - the meals were still frozen and they didn't use excess packaging like some other companies do. The meals were packed really well!
Inside my box, I got a mix of Smoothies, Shots, Noodle Bowls, and Grain Bowls. When my husband saw them he got super excited - he's the Vegan in the house and he's especially been struggling with finding a premade subscription service that 1. isn't filled with overly processed foods and 2. actually tastes good and packed with protein. Splendid Spoon checked all these boxes for him.
Splenid Spoon Review
My husband jumped into trying the meals first and had some of the creamy mushroom and spinach noodles and was really impressed. I tried some as well and couldn't believe how fresh and flavorful it tasted. It was delicious!
We also really liked the Vegan Meatballs and Marinara Noodles, Kimchi Fried Quinoa Grain Bowl, and Lentil and Kale soup. Everything tasted extremely fresh and I liked how clean the labels were - nothing extra added!
The only downside is that most of the containers were pretty high in calories. At first glance, I thought they were low-calorie, but then I realized that each container had 2 servings. I was excited about the Pumpkin Smoothie but later realized the whole bottle was nearly 400 calories! That's way more than I usually have for a smoothie as a snack.
Is Splendid Spoon Worth the Money?
I'll be honest - the subscription is a little pricey, but you definitely do get quality products. The lowest cost per meal is about $9 a meal. If you factor in that most of the meals contain 2 servings each, that gets it down to about $4.50 each. For all-natural, organic vegan meals that are actually a really good deal! For my husband that doesn't really like to cook, this subscription plan is perfect for him and is well worth the money.
My husband and I both enjoyed the food. Everything tasted great, was well put together, and was delicious. We were really impressed! The box was a little high in calories but it's good to find vegan options that taste this good.
I'd recommend Splendid Spoon for anyone who needs an easy and healthy way to eat vegan and is looking for a great tasting meal plan - just be sure you don't mind the higher calorie count (or plan ahead for it!) so you can enjoy these meals guilt-free.
